Garrett Chan, CIRP, LIT

Garrett is the founder of G. Chan & Associates Inc. ("GCA") and has been working for nearly 15 years to achieve optimal outcomes for his clients in times of crisis and change.  A creative problem solver, Garrett makes it his personal mission to come up with innovative strategies that maximize financial and non-financial value.

As a Licensed Insolvency Trustee, Garrett has experience in many formal insolvency roles as Bankruptcy Trustee, Proposal Trustee, Court appointed Receiver, and Court appointed Monitor under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act. Garrett has also acted in other roles including in transactions, consulting, as well as working with individuals in resolving consumer debts, director's liability, and tax debt.

Prior to GCA, Garrett was a vice-president within the financial advisory and restructuring group of a global accounting and advisory firm.

Garrett has a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting from the University of Alberta and is a designated Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) and Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering on community initiatives to promote financial inclusion and economic opportunity.
